Some stats about our trip

De retour à la vie parisienne, voici  - pour ceux qui aiment les chiffres - quelques stats pour  saisir l'envergure de notre voyage :

• 149 jours dont 145 passés dans un camping-car
• 18 000 km parcourus avec ce véhicule entre Seattle et Miami, avec un gros détour par le Canada.
• Seulement 10 journées ont été consacrées entièrement à rouler, le reste des kilomètres a été parcouru par petites étapes
• 13 états américains et 2 provinces canadiennes traversés

Nos activités :

• 47 parcs naturels visités, 35 aux US et 12 au Canada (parcs nationaux, parcs d'états ou de province, refuges, etc...)
• 21 journées et 42 demi-journées entièrement dédiées à la rando 
• 24 jours dans des villes grosses ou moyennes
• 17 journées à la plage
• 7 parcs d'attractions, 11 musées, 6 guides dont 3 privés

On n'a pas compté le nombre d'animaux sauvages observés ni le nombre de paysages qui nous ont laissé sans voix !

Why will we have to come back ?

We have done and seen incredible and numerous things ; though we missed some occasions or were not able to do some activities as our children were too young.

Canada

• Canoeing & wild camping in Wells Gray Provincial Park
• Icewalking on Icefield Road
• Looking for Moutain Goats along Icefield Highway
• Looking for grizzlies in Glacier NP
• Watching Grizzly huning in the river at Telegraphe Cove
• Take the Ferry Boat to Prince Upper from Port Hardy
• Kayaking among Killer Whales at Johnston Strait

United States

• Snorkerling in Monterey Bay
• Driving US-1 at Big Sur on a sunny day !
• Hiking in Joshua Tree NP in Spring when flowers bloom
• Hiking Rim to Rim at Grand Canyon
• Boating & Wild Camping at Powell Lake
• Hiking to see the Waves at Vermillon Cliffs NM
• Watching for the mooses in the Rockies and the mountains goats of Mount Evans
• Visiting Dodge City in Kansas and the Tallgrass National Preserve
• Watching for black bears and seeing the summit of the Great Smoky Mountains
• Kayaking in the Everglades

And this is only for the area we covered; we will have also to visit the other provinces of Canada and other States in US. In other words, we will come back !
